The short answer
Dubai's wedding season runs roughly October to March, and the peak is November to February, when the evenings are cool and outdoor celebrations are at their best. For a winter wedding, book your date and marquee around three to six months ahead, and sooner for a weekend, New Year or a prime villa or beach venue, which go first.
Why winter is Dubai's wedding season
For most of the year the heat makes a long outdoor event hard work. In winter that flips completely. Daytime is warm and comfortable, the evenings are cool and still, and the humidity drops, so a garden, desert or beach ceremony feels effortless rather than endured. It is the one stretch of the year when you can open the sides of a marquee, hold a sunset ceremony outdoors, and keep guests comfortable into the night. How far ahead to book
Because everyone wants the same few cool months, the calendar fills up. A simple timeline for a winter wedding:
- 6+ months ahead: Lock in the date and the venue, especially for a weekend, a holiday or a popular villa, beach or desert spot.
- 3–6 months ahead: Confirm your marquee type and size, air conditioning or heating, flooring and the overall layout.
- 6–8 weeks ahead: Finalise guest numbers, seating, styling, lighting and catering coordination so the setup is locked.
- 2 weeks ahead: Confirm the final headcount, timings and the site survey details, and leave only small tweaks.
What gets booked out first
If your date is flexible, knowing what goes first helps you plan around it:
- Weekend and holiday dates: Friday and Saturday nights, UAE National Day week and the New Year period are the first to go.
- Prime venues: The best villa gardens, beachfronts and desert plots get reserved early for the season.
- Large clearspan marquees: Big, fully air conditioned structures for 200-plus guests are in highest demand.
- Add-ons that sell out: Premium flooring, chandeliers, luxury washrooms and generators are limited on the busiest nights.
Do you still need air conditioning in winter?
Often yes, but for comfort and flexibility rather than survival. A packed marquee warms up with body heat, lighting and catering even on a cool night, and a mild day can still be warm under canvas, so cooling keeps the room comfortable. On the coldest desert evenings, heating is the bigger concern. We plan for both, read more on whether Dubai wedding tents need air conditioning, or see our air conditioned tent rental.
