Winter, roughly November to February, is the best season for a desert wedding in Dubai. The days are mild and the evenings are clear and cool, which makes a dune ceremony comfortable rather than harsh. Because the desert is off-grid, plan for power, water, washrooms and warmth, all of which we bring in with the marquee.
Why winter suits the desert
In the warmer months the open desert is simply too hot for a long outdoor celebration. In winter it is transformed: warm afternoons for the setup and photos, a cool and comfortable evening for the ceremony and dinner, clear skies for a starlit night, and firm, pleasant sand underfoot. What a desert wedding involves
The beauty of the desert is that it is empty, which also means everything has to be brought in. A desert wedding is really a self-contained camp, and getting the logistics right is the whole job:
- Power: The desert is off-grid, so a silent generator runs the cooling, lighting and catering all night.
- Water & washrooms: Water and serviced luxury washrooms are trucked in, so a remote camp still feels comfortable.
- Flooring & anchoring: Stretch tents peg into soft sand, with flooring laid so seating and the dance floor stay level.
- Warmth: Winter desert nights get cold, so we add heating and fire-pit majlis seating for after dark.
We handle all of it, a stretch tent or Bedouin majlis, a silent generator for power, and luxury washrooms, so a remote camp is as comfortable as a venue.
